Non-Muslims can import one bottle of spirits. There are no restrictions involving cameras, computers or cassette players.
 
Money and Exchange Rates
·       Currency
Omani Rial (OMR) = 1,000 baizas. Notes are in denominations of OM Rial 50, 20, 10, 5 and 1, and 500, 250, 200 and 100 baizas. Coins are in denominations of 50, 25, 10 and 5 baizas.
Credit / Debit Cards and ATMs
American Express is accepted, as are other major credit cards. There are over 70 ATMs in Oman.
Travellers Cheque Advice
They are easily exchanged. To avoid additional exchange rate charges, travellers are advised to take traveller’s cheques in US Dollars.

Sat-Wed 0800-1200, Thurs 0800-1130.

The Phone system in Oman has been improving in recent years.
For incoming calls Oman's country code is (++) 968. Outgoing International calls made between 9 pm and 7 am are charged at a discounted rate. Local calls are charged 25 baizas for 3 minutes.
Public telephones use phone cards. Cards are available from filling stations, supermarkets and some smaller shops.

Oman has 128 AM stations and most of the International radio services can be captured with a short-wave-radio.
On the other hand, Oman has local TV channel .But most of Omani have satellite dishes (Which are legal)

Unless you are traveling with a group, you may need to know the different options. You may use the following means of transportation :
 
- Buses
There are daily connections between the major cities. Most of the vehicles are air-conditioned
 
- Taxis and shared Taxis
They can be found anywhere and are relatively cheap:
Shared taxis: 250 Baizas
Private Taxis: Much more expensive but you can dictate the journey
Attention: make sure to negotiate rates before departure
